Shopping? Why select Ziman Orthodontics?
-If our before/after pictures and testimonials don't convince you, consider
our approach to our patients.
1) We don't encourage gimmicks. Other offices sometimes refuse to provide written treatment estimates unless records (models, x-rays) are first taken... and then they will charge you for them should you go elsewhere. We are very comfortable with comparison shoppers and after your complimentary examination, we will provide a written estimate for our services, a precise explanation of what is/is not included and a "Value Fee Guarantee". If you should receive a lesser written estimate from another orthodontist for identical treatment, we will beat that fee by 5%. Why select a provider who won't give you a written estimate before you start treatment?
2) We embrace technology that makes sense to us based on science... not a salespersons advice. Twenty five years of experience has taught us to be skeptical of the "latest", "newest", or "most popular" orthodontic innovations unless or until they are shown to be better than what we now have over some reasonable length of time. For example, while many newer, technologies purport to achieve faster results, what will these cases look like as compared to ours ',10,15,or 20 years down the road particularly if bonded retainers are not used ( check out our long term results) to stabilize the results? Will it matter ten years from now that your case was treated 4 months faster if the result is unstable? We continue to utilize the latest advancements in wires, adhesives, headgear alternatives, and temporary anchorage devices (TAD's) as they become available when our experience, common sense, and the science indicate real value for our patients.
3) While we provide an estimate of treatment duration and the associated fee before you start, it is entirely possible that your case might take longer to complete due to factors beyond our control such as missed adjustments, broken appliances or unusual jaw growth. Guess what? Your fee is locked in no matter how long it takes to complete your case. And, we won't remove the braces until Dr. Ziman is satisfied with the result which is likely to be sometime after you are satisfied. In other word, the braces won't come off at a predetermined point in time unless the case is done to your satisfaction.
You simply can't find a better value than Ziman Orthodontics!

Our dental office referred our 2 children for orthodontic check-ups at the age of 10 and 12 yrs old. We were informed that the 12 yr old needed extensive orthodontic work but the 10 yr old could wait a year. Of course we were concerned and proceeded to engage in an extensive orthodontic plan. I did inform the orthodontist at the time that the 12 year old was under the care of a pediatric endocrinologist for growth issues and had a bone age of an 11 yr old. The orthodontist proceeded to put braces and a MARA on his teeth. Within months we were instructed to have 10 teeth removed so that the permanent teeth could have room to come in. I thought at the time that 10 teeth at once was pretty horrendous but we proceeded to have the oral surgeon remove those "baby teeth". Unfortunately between the MARA and having no teeth the ability to chew was obviously greatly diminished and we had a problem with meal time. After many months of suffering through the inability to eat and a few other experiences of mismanagement I decided this was not a good place for our child. Each time he was in the office for care he was seeing a different person not his orthodontist of origin. I made an appointment, at my child's request, to discuss the care. He had looked at the photos of his mouth and avowed that this was not his record. We went in to see the orthodontist and at that time when I mentioned that he could not eat she asked why he had 10 teeth removed. When I stated that she had ordered it she denied this and said it was not part of her management plan. She went to talk to the other orthodontist and came back apologetically stating that this was a mistake. I proceeded to have the MARA removed and found another orthodontist. We did some research and went to see Dr. Ziman I was impressed by the fact that he does his own work and there isn't the packed waiting room with a revolving door. When we saw Dr Ziman he showed us the x-rays and explained the importance of Dental Age in relation to Bone Age and Chronological Age. I was not well informed as to the significance of these age relationships. In our case the teeth that were removed were not even close to being ready for the permanent teeth to come in. We were now looking at a year to 18 months before the permanent teeth would move into place. This has a serious impact on how long the orthodontic care plan is extended as well as discomfort for the child. The braces that were placed 2 1/2 years ago will now be extended for another 2 to 4 years. I don't think most parents want this for their child. I have learned a serious lesson from this kind of rushing into orthodonture just because the child is at a chronological age to be in braces. It would serve parents well to do their research prior to choosing an orthodontist. I think that dentists could serve their patients by better informing them more regarding dental age as it relates to chronological age. Unless teeth are impacted or there is another concern dental age is crucial to determining a healthy orthodontic plan. We are still waiting for teeth to arrive a year later. P.R

Dr. Ziman:
I wanted to write this letter so that you could publish it so that other
patients could make an informed decision. I have and continue to refer my
friends to you. Thank you again so much for being so honest with us and the
continued work you are giving Amber.
If you are looking for an orthodontist, or looking for an orthodontist that is about you or your child, and not about a smoothie machine, fresh cookies, espresso machine, video games in the waiting room, booking the Water Park of America for her entire practice, or drawings with wonderful prizes to get people into their office and pay for it with increased rates, don’t sign up until you hear what I have to say and then you can make an informed decision.
My daughter had her first set of braces when she was in 2nd grade. We went to the first person that we saw, (it was the Orthodontist that comes every year to my child’s school for dental prevention month) so I figured if the school allows them to come in and demonstrate and talk to the children, she must be very good. Well yes she is good, but costly. Not knowing better, which we should, we went to her for my daughter had a space between her two front teeth. Before we knew it, they were taking pictures, doing x-rays, and had us signing a contract before we realized what was happening. The Orthodontist put 4 braces or brackets on her front four teeth. Well the cost of that was $2,500.00. Our insurance paid $1,600.00 we paid $900.00 out of pocket. Granted, we did get a cookie, water bottle or smoothie, and tokens to save up to get some cool prizes for each visit.
Now my daughter is in 6th grade and she needs a full set of braces to correct an overbite and crowding. My daughter and I went back to the Orthodontist to find out what the total cost would be for a full set of braces. The Orthodontist would charge $6,200.00 for phase 2; she would minus $500.00 for phase 1 treatment leaving a total cost of $5,800.00 plus tax.
My husband and I decided we needed to check around. We did go to several orthodontists in the metro area, and came upon Dr. Ziman who was referred to us from a friend who was also a patient at our previous orthodontist. Upon meeting Dr. Ziman my daughter and I felt very comfortable there, the staff was very friendly, and Dr. Ziman was truly attentive on my daughter and her care. He also contacted us after our consultation to see if we had any other questions. I was very impressed with him.
My husband and I decided to go with Dr. Ziman because he was very honest and no hidden charges. Once we contacted our insurance to see if we had any money left for orthodontic care after going with our previous Orthodontist we were notified that her office used the remaining money for banding. So the total cost for my daughter’s first phase of treatment was $2,900.00. There was no expander, only one retainer that she used for 2 years at most. So for the total cost that it would have been for my daughter to go to this clinic would be in the ball park of $9,000.00.
Dr. Ziman’s office was much less than our previous Orthodontist and other clinics we checked out. My daughter is very happy with going to Dr. Ziman and does not even miss the tokens or the cookies. Please do not make the same mistake that my family made by going to the first orthodontist and not checking other’s out. If you go to the clinic and they want to quickly take x-rays or pictures of your child’s mouth please wait, take a breath, and tell them you need to think about it, and call Dr. Ziman for a consultation and see what Dr. Ziman and his staff can do for you.
Dr. Ziman is very attentive to detail and will make sure everything is done
right and does not push you into anything unless you are ready and have made an
informed decision. Please take the time and call his office and set up a
consultation with Dr. Ziman, I guarantee you will not regret it. If I could turn
back the clock, I would rather treat my daughter to a cookie and smoothie at
Starbucks and save myself thousands of dollars.
Thank you for taking the time to read this personal summary of our Orthodontist
experience.

DR. ZIMAN COMPLETES HIS ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT AND VENEERS!
At Ziman Orthodontics, we believe in what we do and this goes all the way to the top. As a child. Dr. Ziman's teeth were stained by sulfa drugs used to treat earaches. The result was a yellowish gray tinge which progressively darkened over the years. While he did not require braces as a child, in preparation for the veneers to cover up the discolored teeth, an 18 month orthodontic treatment was undertaken to correct a deep overbite, align the tipped bicuspids and space out the upper undersized lateral incisors. The before/after orthodontic pictures as well as the newly veneered teeth pictures are presented here. ,Many of our adult patients would benefit from a combination orthodontic and veneer type approach to rebuild/restore their smiles... just like Dr. Ziman. Your dentist is a great resource to discuss veneers.
